AI & Software Studio
About the studio

Engineers who would rather ship than present.

Befzy was founded by AI engineers with years of experience taking enterprise systems from first idea to production — voice assistants, automation pipelines and custom business software.

We started the studio because the same pattern kept repeating: organisations with real, solvable, expensive problems being sold a strategy engagement instead of a solution. Meanwhile the companies who would benefit most were being told they were too small to bother with.

01The position

AI isn't reserved for corporations with million-euro budgets.

The tooling that used to require a research team now runs on a laptop and a credit card. What has not changed is the engineering judgement needed to make it dependable — and that is the part still being sold as if it were scarce.

The biggest wins hide in everyday work: document processing, customer communication, repetitive back-office tasks. That's where we operate — with solutions that pay for themselves in weeks.

02Structure

Count the boxes between you and the code.

“You talk to the engineers” is a claim every agency makes. It is easier to check as a diagram than as a sentence.

The usual arrangement

Four handovers between the question and the person who can answer it.

  1. You
  2. Account manager
  3. Project manager
  4. Tech lead
  5. The developer writing it

4 people between you and the code.

At Befzy

One conversation, with the people who will build it.

  1. You
  2. The engineers writing it

Nobody between you and the code.

The trade we made deliberately: we run fewer projects in parallel than a staffed agency, so the people who scope your work are the people who build it.
03How we think

Six positions we will not negotiate on.

Everything else — stack, scope, sequencing — is up for discussion. These are the parts that make the rest work.

01

A demo is not a system

The distance between something that works in a meeting and something that works on a Tuesday afternoon with real data is where most AI budgets disappear. We treat that distance as the actual project.

02

The unglamorous work pays best

The highest-return automations we have built were never anyone's strategic priority. They were the exports, the re-keying and the weekly report that someone assembled by hand.

03

Say no early

A meaningful share of the ideas people bring us should not be built — at least not with AI, and often not yet. Saying so on the first call costs us a project and saves you a quarter.

04

Measure, then claim

Every system we ship has an evaluation set built from real cases, agreed before launch. It is the difference between believing something works and being able to show it.

05

Data protection is architecture

Retention, minimisation, access control and deletion are schema decisions. Handled at the start they cost almost nothing; handled at the end they cost a rebuild.

06

No layer between you and the build

There is no account manager, because there is nothing for one to do. Whoever scopes your project writes the code, and answers when something breaks.

04Boundaries

What we don't do.

A studio is defined at least as much by what it declines. If any of these is what you are looking for, there are firms who do them well and we are happy to point you toward one.

  • Discovery phases that bill for months and end in a slide deck.
  • Retainers that exist to reserve capacity rather than deliver work.
  • Model choices made for the press release rather than the use case.
  • Vendor lock-in written into the architecture or the contract.
  • Promises about accuracy we have not measured on your data.
05Practicalities

Based in Germany. Working worldwide.

Languages

English and German for delivery, documentation and support.

Working style

Remote by default, with calls scheduled around your timezone rather than ours.

Data protection

European hosting and GDPR-aligned processing as the standing default, regardless of where your business sits.

Engagement

Phased and fixed-price where possible, so you are never committing to the whole thing to find out whether the first part works.

Talk to the people who would build it.

Free, 20 minutes, and you leave with a ranked shortlist either way.

Say hello

Tell us what's slow. We'll tell you if we can fix it.

A free 20-minute call, no strings attached. We will tell you where the leverage is — and where it is not.

  • No sales deck, no discovery invoice
  • You get a ranked shortlist either way
  • If AI is the wrong tool, we say so
